In this article, we will explore the steps to set up Failover on Ruijie SMB equipment:

  • RG-EG105G-V2

  • RG-EG210G-E

INTRODUCTION

Disabling unused ports on both the router and the switch helps protect against direct attacks on these devices. It is a way to provide more reliability and security, both physically and logically, to our network.

NOTE: This configuration is possible with firmware ReyeeOS 1.206.2220 onwards.

CONFIGURATION

1. Access the router and select the Gateway tab.

"If the default IP is 192.168.110.1, use it to access the equipment.

2. Go to the following path:

Network -> Port Settings

3. You will find the status of each of the ports.

Select the 'edit' option for the port or ports you want to disable. A window will open where you can disable the port by choosing 'status,' then click 'Ok' to save the changes.

It will be reflected in this way.

That would have completed the setup.

VERIFICATION

Connect a device to that port; the test will be that the device should not obtain a network connection to confirm the success of the configuration.
