This article describes the steps to configure facial recognition in the E Series NVR.

NVRs Compatible with Face Recognition

XR18/8-FR-GEN3 (Supports face recognition on 6 channels using face detection cameras, when not using face detection cameras it will support 2 channels with face recognition).

XR432/16-GEN3 (Supports face recognition on 6 channels using face detection cameras, when not using face detection cameras it will support 2 channels with face recognition).

XR64/8-GEN3 (Supports face recognition on 16 channels using face detection cameras, when not using face detection cameras it will support 4 channels with face recognition).

Cameras compatible with Face Detection:

XB54CA-GEN3

XB82T-GEN3

XE52C-GEN3

XE82T-GEN3

XE82ZT-GEN3

XD42M-GEN3

a. Enter the IP address of the NVR:

b. Enter the "Function Panel" option and within this option we select "Face Recognition" in the "AI / Event" menu.

c. Within the "Face Recognition" option:

a.Select the camera to use

b. In the Detection section, select "Enable detection by IPC" option if the camera supports face detection.

c. Draw the detection area

d. Configure the schedule, rules and face size

e. Save the changes by clicking Apply.

d. The next step is to create the database with the necessary faces.

  1. We enter the "Face Database" option.

  2. We create a new group.

  3. Within the previously created group, we need to register the necessary faces in the Add option.

  4. We fill in all the data corresponding to the face we are going to register.

  5. Click on "Select Face" option to register the face.

  6. It is possible to upload faces captured by the same cameras or faces externally in .jpg, .jpeg formats less than 70KB.

  7. If you want to register faces captured by the same cameras, we select the camera and click on Search and it will find all the detected faces, the faces that have a green icon in the upper right corner are the ones that can be used to add to the database.

  8. Select the "Entry" option and the face is registered in the database.

e. The last step is to enable facial recognition on the NVR.

  1. We enter the Recognition option.

  2. We need to enable this if we want notifications to be sent if it is a successful facial recognition or if it is a stranger.

  3. We need to select the group which we will use to make the comparison of faces that we created in step d-2.

  4. Select the schedule

  5. Select the event we want to perform when you have a satisfactory face match (push notification in the E-Connect app, activate the NVR buzzer, generate a video pop-up, send an email, etc.).

  6. Save the changes by clicking Apply.

In the Live View, we can select the Target Detection option and every time a face is recognized and a satisfactory comparison with the database is made, it can be displayed:

It is also possible to search for intelligent videos by faces registered in the database.

We enter the "Intelligent Analytics" option and with the Face option we select the face to do the intelligent search, we also select the date to show all the times it has recognized this face and made a match, it will also run a small video of the time when it made the recognition.
