Wi-Fi Network for Hotspot

  • First, remove or deactivate the existing WiFi network managed by the router.

  • Create an open WiFi network (without a password).

Local Users

The Local Users section is used to create and manage users who can connect to the Hotspot. The components of the Local Users page are explained in the list and figure below.

To access this section, go to: Services > Hotspot > Local Users.

When entering a username, password, and clicking the 'Add' button, a new user is created.

The 'Group' dropdown menu assigns a user to another group.

The 'Edit' button allows you to change a user's password or assign them to another group.

The 'Delete [X]' button deletes a user.

Once done click on the "SAVE & APPLY" button

Hotspot Instances

The Hotspot Instances section displays the main parameters of your Hotspot. By default, there is no Hotspot instance on the device. To create a new instance and begin configuration:

Access Menu: Services > Hotspot > General

  1. Select a 'Interface'.

  2. Click the 'ADD' button.

Here we select the WiFi interface of the Hotspot.

After this, a new Hotspot configuration window will appear.

General Settings

The General Settings window is where most of the Hotspot configuration takes place. Refer to the following subsections for information on the configuration fields found in the General Settings sections.

General Settings > General

In the end, we simply turn on the hotspot service.

This way, our portal is ready for devices to connect.
