REQUIREMENTS:

The process outlined below applies to any RUIJIE brand device. The only requirement for the procedure is that the device has internet access and that you have an account on the RUIJIE platform.

PROCESS:

  1. Log in to the RUIJIE platform with your previously established username and password:

2. As the initial access, we see the equipment monitoring area, but at the moment, we don't have anything added, so we go to the configuration menu.

a) On the left menu, we see the hierarchy of network groups and projects. At the moment, we only see the Root directory.

b) On the right, we can see our list of managed networks and created projects.

3. We add a new project.

We have the option to add a project group for better organization, but this is optional.

- Name: The desired name.

- Management password: Password for the specific project; consider that any adopted equipment will take this access password.

- Scenario: Choose the industry or type according to the project.

- Time: Choose our time zone.

- Type: Here we choose the cloud + AP option, which is selected when we don't have the AC (Access Controller). If we have it, we choose AC + Fit AP.

- Location: We have the option to choose the location of our project by the company name or the location registered on maps.

4. We add one or more SSIDs and global passwords that we need for this site or project.

5. We add our RUIJIE devices.

Here, we can add all our devices at once, including Access Points, Switches, Gateways, among other devices.

In my case, I only have the switch, and that's what we are going to add by entering the serial number and an alias:

6. At this point, our device is already added. To validate that everything has been set up correctly, we go to the monitoring menu. We see that the device is already online, and we can view the following data:

- MAC Address.

- Local IP Address.

- Public IP Address.

- Serial Number.

- Firmware Version.

7. From the cloud, we can now perform configuration by clicking on the Serial Number of the device. The configuration possibilities in this case for the switch are as follows:

- Enable/disable ports.

- Duplex mode / Half.

- Change port negotiation.

- Enable/disable ports.

- VLAN management.

- Enable loop prevention.

Notes

  1. To access the interface of each device through the RUIJIE web platform or CLI, we need a RUIJIE router in which tunnels must be enabled to connect to our devices.

  2. Due to the above, we cannot make changes to the local IP address, as it is only possible to do so by connecting locally to the device or opening the interface remotely.

  3. Every time a device is added to a project, it must be removed from that project to add it to another project or to reset it.

  4. Any changes made through the web platform or mobile application will be reflected in both.

Update URL in switches

This must be done if the switch is not added to the platform:

Ruijie#configure ter
Ruijie(config)#cwmp
Ruijie(config-cwmp)#acs url http://devicereg.ruijienetworks.com/service/tr069servlet
Ruijie(config-cwmp)#end
Ruijie#wr
