What is a Captive Portal?
A captive portal is software that monitors the traffic of a Wi-Fi hotspot, requiring users connecting to that network to go through a web landing page. On this page, they are informed of the steps they need to follow to connect to the WiFi network and gain access to the Internet. It is commonly used in open wireless networks.
The Captive Portal intercepts all HTTP and/or HTTPS traffic, redirecting all requests to the establishment's web page. It can also:
Manage the bandwidth offered to clients.
Control when user sessions expire.
Log the resources visited by users.
How does the Captive Portal work?
The captive portal acts as the controller, managing automated user access to both public and private networks.

To create a captive portal with Ruijie, you need both an Access Point that broadcasts Wi-Fi (any brand) and a Router where the hotspot is created (except for the RG-AP180 model, which can configure the hotspot without a router).
To begin the Captive Portal configuration, go to the CONFIGURATION menu and select "Authentication" in the "Captive Portal" section."
Within the Captive Portal configuration, click on the 'Add' button to create a new 'Landing Page.'
We customize the page where it will request the data to gain access to the internet.
Explanation of the sections that can be filled in.
When we finish customizing and saving the Landing Page, we continue with the creation of the wireless network SSID.
