At times, it is necessary to have SSIDs with different network segments, either to enforce a specific policy and prevent communication between devices in different SSIDs or to optimize the flow in our network.

To create and apply VLANs to different SSIDs in Ruijie, you need to have at least one router and one access point (the entire configuration can be done through Ruijie Cloud). The topology is as follows:

VLAN Setup

For the creation and configuration of the VLAN, it is necessary to go to Configuration > Network-wide > VLAN > VLAN Edit.

Next, click on +Add, fill in the parameters for the new VLAN, and save the changes.

SSID Setup

Once the VLAN is configured, proceed to create the SSID and apply the VLAN ID previously created. Go to Configuration > WIRELESS > Basic > SSID +

Fill in the necessary parameters for your network, such as name, password, bands, and the VLAN ID that was created, in this case, VLAN 10, and save the changes.

Connection Test

When connecting a device to each of the created SSIDs, it will be assigned to a different network segment.
