What is a network loop?
It is a condition where a packet is continuously transmitted within a series of routers without ever reaching the desired destination network.
It can occur due to poor Ethernet cable connections in switches,
For example:
To prevent network loops, Ruijie has developed the RLDP (Rapid Link Detection Protocol), which quickly detects faults in Ethernet ports.
Upon detecting the loop, the RLDP protocol blocks the ports where the fault occurs,
freeing up the other ports to continue passing data.
The advantage of this configuration from the Ruijie Cloud application is that it can be done with a single click.
To achieve this, follow the steps below:
Step 1
Open the project in which you want to configure loop prevention.
Step 2
We review the tool panel.
Step 3
In the Advanced section, select the "Loop Prevention" tool.
Step 4
The devices that may present the loop appear afterward; activate the checkbox, and you're done.
