This configuration is based on the equipment with RGOS from Ruijie:

CONFIGURATION

1. Access the device.

  • IP: 192.168.1.1 on the management port (MGMT). You can access it through any other IP configured on its ports.

  • Username: admin

  • Password: Configured the first time you access.

Once inside the device interface, select the following section: Network -> Interface.

2. Select the port through which you want to manage the VLAN and click on 'Sub Interface'.

3. A dialog box will open where we will fill in the following information.

  • Sub interface: In this case, it would be port 1 and the 1st VLAN.

  • VLAN ID: The identifier for the VLAN, ranging from 2 to 4087 (VLAN 1 is the segment that the port 1 already has).

  • IP Address: The IP that will serve as the gateway for that network.

  • Subnet Mask: The network subnet mask.

  • Any IP: Not enabled.

  • Reserved Path: Not enabled.

Once the data is filled in, click 'Accept' to save the VLAN.

It will look like this

If we want to manage a DHCP server to assign IP addresses automatically for that VLAN, follow these steps:

4. Go to the section Network -> DHCP. In the settings tab, add a new one.

5. A dialog box will open, and we fill in the data as follows.

  • Pool Name: DHCP name

  • Subnet: The network segment created in the VLAN

  • Mask: Subnet mask (Same as used when creating the VLAN)

  • Default Gateway: The IP assigned to the generated VLAN

  • Lease Time/Permanent: Depends on whether we want the IPs to refresh after a certain time

  • DNS: Enter the preferred DNS

Apply changes.
