For this article, the RG-EG3230 model was used. To access the device configuration, it can be done locally with the default IP 192.168.1.1 on port 0/MGMT (default username and password are admin admin) or from the cloud through our Ruijie Cloud account.
The first step in speed limitation is to create a group with a range of addresses for which we will limit browsing speed. This is done in User -> User -> root -> +Add User (IP Range).
Enter the username and the range of addresses (excluding the Gateway IP) for the User.
Once the User with the address range is created, go to Flow -> Flow Control Policy, and enable Flow Control on the WAN interfaces as follows:
With the changes saved, tabs are enabled at the top. Go to Change Policy, and add a new policy.
Name the policy, select the created User, and set the speed limit, in this case, 10Mbps.
After saving the changes, proceed to perform a speed test to verify if the applied changes have taken effect.
