Generally, on Ruijie Enterprise devices, you may notice a change in the web interface as they transition between series. This is attributed to variations in the operating system version they use, making configuration procedures somewhat challenging across different devices.
In certain instances, the device may come with a web interface in Chinese and a green-themed presentation, allowing cloud authentication. To ensure optimal performance, it becomes necessary to update the firmware. However, in cases where there is no cloud connection, manual firmware update steps can be followed to achieve this. The following steps can guide you through the process:
1.- Check the current firmware version of the device.
If the device comes with a web interface in Chinese, you can use the Google Translate tool to view the interface with an acceptable translation. Check the firmware version of the device in the "Monitoring >> Switch Overview" menu.
2.- Download the firmware.
Once you know the version and model of the device, go to the Ruijie support page to download the firmware. Locate the model among the categories. You can access it through the following link:
3.- Upload the firmware to the device.
Once the firmware is downloaded, go to the device's "Maintenance >> Switch >> Upgrade" menu, click on browse, and select the downloaded file. It will start uploading the update file, and eventually, it will indicate that the device will restart to complete the update.
After the restart, the device will be updated, and the new web interface will be available in English.
