SSH: Secure Shell is a protocol that facilitates secure communications between two systems using a client/server architecture and allows users to connect to a remote host.
It allows access to another computer over the network, running commands on the remote machine, and transferring files between two machines. It provides secure authentication and communication over insecure channels.
Configuration:
1. Access the console, Telnet, or the cloud CLI to activate the service.
Access via Telnet.
Access via console.
2. Once inside the equipment's CLI, enter the following command to check the status of the service.
`ena`
`show service`
3. It shows that the SSH-Server service is disabled. To enable it, execute the following commands:
`conf t`
`enable service ssh-server`
`end`
`wr`
4. Verify the service status again.
`show service`
With this, you have enabled the SSH service. Verify access using a CLI from software such as PUTTY or HyperTerminal.
