Ruijie allows us easy management and massive configuration to all its devices approved with its cloud, the equipment of the Reyee series is designed to work completely with the cloud for its total adaptability, but on the other hand, the Ruijie Enterprise series ("Red Line") is more robust and is not fully compatible with the Cloud since it is not focused for that application. Despite this, some models of the Enterprise series are compatible with cloud management, given that on some occasions a more robust switch such as a Core switch is needed. If you have doubts about whether the equipment is compatible with the Ruijie cloud, you can verify compatibility at the following link:

Supported Device Models of Ruijie Cloud

Sometimes we may have verified that our Ruijie device model is compatible with the cloud. Still, when we add it, it appears as if it is offline even if we have manually updated the firmware and pinged the Ruijie cloud URL to check connectivity.

On these computers, you may need to change the registration URL in the cloud, because you may not have the correct one on your computer. This cannot be done directly from the web interface, but it can be done from the console interface, for this we can follow these steps:

1.- Connect by console cable

In the first instance, you must connect the PC to the switch by means of a console cable, this cable must be one that has two connectors, in one end must be type plug RJ45 and the other must be DB9, in turn, it can be necessary an adapter of DB9 to USB to be able to connect it to laptops.

Optionally you can consider this AT-VT-KIT3 cable for communication that makes the direct conversion from USB to RJ45.

In the Laptop, we must have installed software for serial communication RS232 as it can be Putty, Hiper Terminal, or Tera Term, and this last one is the one that will be used for this example. You can download it at https://ttssh2.osdn.jp/index.html.en

2.- Login and password creation

If it is the first time that the switch is accessed by the console, we will be asked to create a password, to set it we must run the Tera Term program and once the program has started we must press the "enter" key to access the switch.

We must type the command "enable" and press "enter" to activate the switch, it will ask us to type a system password.

We write the password we want and press the "enter" key, it will ask us to confirm it, we write it again and press "enter" again to save it. It is very important that WE DO NOT FORGET THAT PASSWORD!

To completely rule out that it is not an Internet or cloud connection problem, we suggest pinging the registration URL in the cloud. For this, we type the command

"ping devicereg.ruijienetworks.com" and press the "enter" key and check that the ping responds.

3.- Change the registration link

Then, in order to register the equipment we must execute the following commands, pressing the "enter" key after each one:

"configure ter"

"cwmp"

"end"

"wr"

When we get the "OK" message, it means that the configuration has been saved and was performed correctly.

4.- Validate that the equipment is already registered.

Finally, we enter our project in the Cloud and wait a little while for it to appear online.

With this, our equipment is available so that the desired configurations can be made through the cloud. It is important to note that if the equipment is returned to factory settings, the process must be repeated.
