Ruijie Cloud allows you to group devices to apply specific configurations only to the devices within the same group. In this way, if Access Points (APs) are grouped, it is possible to assign specific SSIDs to these groups.

This article will explain the proper way to configure AP groups directly from Ruijie Cloud, as well as how to assign each device in a project to a specific group.

Each AP group can broadcast one or more different SSIDs. This way, if you want a specific area to only display the signal of a particular SSID, it can be achieved.

Step 1

Start by locating the list of projects on the home page, then select the "Project Management" section from the Ruijie Cloud platform.

Step 2

In this section, you can see the list of projects. Locate the project where the configuration will be applied. Proceed to add the groups you want to create by clicking the “+” button in the “Device Group” section and assigning a name. Repeat this process for each group added to the network.

Step 3

Once all the groups to be used have been created, enter the project for their respective configuration.

Step 4

Once inside the project, go to the **Devices** section and the **AP** tab. Here, you can see the list of AP devices registered in the project. These devices will be used for the configuration.

Step 5

This is where each AP device is assigned to a previously created group. To do this, select the device to be added to a specific group, then click the “...” button. After that, select **Move** and locate the group to which each device will be assigned.

Step 6

Once all devices have been assigned to their respective groups, proceed to create SSIDs within each group. This is done from the Device Config section and SSID, where you can create each SSID for each group.

Step 7

Now, select the group where the APs are located for which you want to assign a specific SSID. Then, click Add SSID to create the new SSIDs that will be configured and visible only on the APs in that particular group.

Once the configuration is complete, you can view the group and the Wi-Fi network (SSID) created for each group of APs by selecting each group in the upper left corner.

I hope this article is helpful. Thank you very much!
